Patch 2026.10.18 — Fastest Hands
Highlights
- The fastest card now acts first, and anyone can WAIT to act last instead. No more interrupts.
- Every fighter comes straight from their Paradise character sheet.
- Ranged attacks fly across the map, and the host can pick between three arenas.

New Features
- Arenas: Danger Room, Mansion Lawn and City Square. The host picks one under ⚙ Host → Arena; everyone sees it.
- Wait: when your turn comes, before you move or act, drop to the end of the order (once per turn).
- Move confirmation: click a hex and your fighter walks there, then choose MOVE HERE or GO BACK. Click your own fighter for STAY, WAIT or GO BACK.

Combat Rules
- Turn order runs fastest to slowest. Ties: higher Agility, then Fortuitous, then a roll.
- Removed: interrupts. An attack lands the moment it is declared.
- Removed: Abort. Block is a card everyone has, and it works from the moment cards are revealed.
- Aerial and Crouching cards count whenever you are faster than the attacker.
- Every card prints its Reach: Adjacent, Reach N, Line N, Cone N, Burst N within N, Radius N, Around the User, Leap N, Rush or Splash N.
- New shape, Splash N: hits someone next to you; every enemy within N of them takes half.
- Removed: Cleave and Area of Effect percentages. Those attacks now use shapes.
- Every damaging card names its own Base Attribute (Brawn, Agility, Endurance, Intellect or Perception). Nothing is assumed from the kind of card.
- Damage types: Ballistic, Energy and Magnetic removed; Soul renamed Magic. Ten types remain: Concussive, Corrosive, Darkforce, Electric, Fire, Magic, Piercing, Psychic, Slashing, Toxic.
- You can't pick a card whose requirement isn't met (no Abuse of Power, no Arcana out, not enough Stamina…). It is greyed out in your hand with the reason.
- Flight: taking off needs at least 1 Stamina (flying costs 1 a turn). Landing is always free.
- Removed: the player character builder and move editor.

Characters
Darkstar
- Night Train can be aimed along its whole line in any direction.
Hellfire
- Amaranth, Conflagration of Sin, Haunting Seduction: Reach Perception + Focus → fixed Reach 6. Dev note: Focus no longer exists.
Icarus
- Falling Angel is now a Splash 1 attack (enemies next to the target take half when Halo is spent). Same effect as before.
Mach Two
- Basically Magneto deals Corrosive damage (was Magnetic).
Pixie
- Souldagger deals Magic damage (was Soul).
Roulette
- New: Jackpot (free, Speed 3, Damage 5, Brawn). Against a Jinxed target: +3 Damage, and the Jinx is spent.
- New: Let It Ride (free, Speed 7). Dash up to 4 hexes; end next to an enemy and you are Lucky for 2 turns.
Scarlet Witch
- Hex Bolt deals Piercing damage (was Energy).
Tarot
- New: Turn the Card (free, Speed 6). Send one of your Arcana back into the deck for its card: The Chariot knocks back everyone next to it, Strength shields you and nearby allies (Shield 3), Death finishes a badly hurt enemy, The Magician fires a free Arcane Bolt (+2 Damage).
- New: The Fool's Swap (1 Stamina, Speed 7). Trade places with one of your Arcana.

Interface
- Health bars: one slim row per fighter, with name and Health inside the bar. Smaller turn counter.
- Turn order bar: square chips; the circle shows the Speed of the card played (a green check while picking); the fighter acting is all yellow; every card is shown once everyone has picked.
- Host tools live in the ⚙ Host menu in the map's corner.
- Your buttons (MOVE HERE, STAY, WAIT, BOOST, PASS) sit over your fighter, wherever they cover no one.
- Ranged attacks fly as an orb in the damage type's colour; each hit lands as it arrives.
- Aiming: Piercing lines and cones aim along their full length with a preview; other possible hexes are faint.
- No arena-name banner when a fight starts. New portrait for the Knight of the Realm.

Site and Wiki
- Combat wiki: dice, initiative, attacks and damage rolls rewritten as the game plays now, with examples.
- Character sheet cards show their Reach and Base Attribute.

Bug Fixes
- Three-In-One could get stuck after picking Mind Treat with no Abuse of Power.
- Flight could be picked with 0 Stamina.
- Night Train offered only the hexes next to Darkstar instead of its line.

Known Issues
- Summons can pick Block and stand around instead of attacking.
- The AI doesn't use Wait, Turn the Card or The Fool's Swap yet.
