Background
IX: She Lies With Angels
Joshua Guthrie styled himself the man of the household once Samuel and Paige left Kentucky for the Xavier School and the Snow Valley Academy, trying to make sure his brothers and sisters wanted for nothing before realizing his mother Lucinda had things well in hand. Free to pursue his passions the young man assembled a band with his friends and took to singing as the lead man. Success eluded the young men despite their continued effort until Joshua's X-Gene activated, confering him great crimson wings and a beautiful voice, both gifts which he used on stage.
After the fact his career soared, and every other weeked the young man was out of town singing, his wings thought to be a gimmick instead of real manifestations of the X-Gene. Joshua met many girls, and enjoyed his localized stardom, until one fateful night fate saw fit to cross his path with Julia Cabot's, his first love and the one girl he never quite forgot. The Cabots being sworn enemies of his family, Joshua still decided to pursue Julia, finding his feelings to be reciprocated by the girl, as she too had never forgotten about him. The two began a secret affair.
X: Burning Wings
Life was good for a while, but it was not to last. An incident with one of Jay's brothers Jeb and one of Julia's caused the Cabots and Guthries to feud once more, and this time things escalated intensely when Chester Cabot, Julia's father, was given suits of armor by the local Purifiers chapter so he could make good on his word to rid Cumberland County from the Guthries once and for all.
Equipped with the power armors Chester and his sons managed to find Jay and, to their surprise, Julia, alone in the woods. In the brief argument that came to pass, Chester aimed his weaponry at Jay, but before the boy could even react, Julia threw herself to try and absorb the fatal attack.
The discharge of energy cut clean through the couple and both Julia and Jay fell down onto the ground, driving Chester crazy with grief as he marched on to the Guthrie property, now set on killing the rest of the family. With the arrival of Boom-Boom and Cannonball, however, the men were not only stopped, but thanks to the malfunctioning suits Chester ended up losing his life.
Hours later Jay woke up, healed, but the same could not be said about Julia, who left his world in the young man's arms. Agreeing to leave Cumberland, as the place brought only pain to him now, Jay joined his siblings over the Xavier Habitat for Higher Learning, bonding with Tabitha on the way there, while still griefing over his lost love.

Physiology: Cheyarafim Morphology
The so-called Cheyarafim possess a highly specialized avian physiology characterized by the development of functional feathered wings and extensive anatomical adaptations for sustained flight. Their wings are flexible, capable of folding tightly against the torso and legs, while powerful pectoral and dorsal musculature provides the force necessary for sustained flight. Their skeleton is substantially lighter than that of an ordinary human, with reduced bone density and reinforced internal architecture analogous to the pneumatic bones of birds. Cheyarafim possess proportionally greater muscle mass, extremely low adipose tissue, and an elevated aerobic capacity, allowing them to generate considerable physical output without metabolic fatigue. Their cardiovascular and respiratory systems are correspondingly specialized, with enlarged pulmonary capacity.
The Cheyarafim physiology is further distinguished by an unusually robust regenerative and metabolic system associated with their wings. Specialized tissues within the wing structure secrete regenerative enzymes and growth factors into the bloodstream, accelerating tissue repair throughout the body and allowing Cheyarafim to recover from trauma considerably faster than baseline humans. These adaptations also provide substantial resistance to blunt-force trauma and deceleration, allowing Cheyarafim to survive falls and high-speed impacts that would normally be fatal.Phenotype: Ferals

Blood and Bone
Dr. Alia Gregor was a Soviet geneticist whose scientific outlook was shaped by the rigorous, materialist traditions of Soviet research. In her 1992 book Blood and Bone, she examined human-mutant relations through the ecological principle of competitive exclusion, arguing that their overlapping needs and radically different capabilities could produce conflict even without hatred or prejudice. Following the Genoshan Genocide, her research revealed that mutantkind was recovering far faster than expected. Presenting her findings in Geneva in 1996, Gregor warned that mutants could become Earth's dominant species within twenty years, arguing that humanity needed to establish the conditions for coexistence before it was too late. Though she remained committed to scientific objectivity and rejected the idea that biological difference implied moral inferiority, her conclusions placed her research at the center of an increasingly urgent debate over humanity's future.

The Phoenix Force
The Phoenix Force is fire incarnate and it is inextricably bound to Mutantkind. Perhaps it always was. It is at the heart of Regenesis, forging a second chance for a people on the brink. To some, its akin to a mutant god; to others, a curse of ash and ruin. These are its secrets.

The Seeds of Krakoa
Following the Genoshan Genocide and Magneto's death, Professor Charles Xavier withdrew from the X-Men, consumed by the question of how mutantkind could survive in a world that had repeatedly failed it. His search led him back to Krakoa, the living island he and Magneto had once misunderstood, where he discovered the potential for a new relationship between mutants and their living homeland. Through Akorak, a chimera born from Krakoa and the X-Men captured in 1983, the X-Men discovered six extraordinary flowers. Beneath the island, they also found the Hatchery, where Krakoa could assist with bringing the Genoshan dead back to life. Together, these discoveries embodied Charles's final vision: a mutant nation built not merely on strength or the hope of human acceptance, but on symbiosis, self-determination, and the possibility of restoring what had been lost.
