Background
VIII: The Circular Loop
Two lovers bound atop a lonely hill face their prisoners, both beaten to a pulp, spears and sticks through their flesh and, yet, they live. They live so that when their gazes meet her disappointment and heartache are apparent, scouring his soul and leaving it raw. He watches as they torch her first, and her pain becomes his long before fire licks his body as well.
Kevin Ford was a talented and promising artist in Atlanta, a young man ready for stardom when his powers first manifested. Unlike with most mutants, Kevin had the privilege, however ironic, to mutate slowly, his X-Gene activating in harmonious fashion. Gifted with the dubious blessing of decomposing organic matter, his powers manifested first in the withering of plants of his backyard, enough to make Kevin avoid other people altogether.
Each passing week or month the dream became more real, and Kevin woke up remembering more details in it. After a while he begun to use it as inspiration for his art, and soon Kevin had all but secluded himself from the companionship of his peers to work on his talent, investing himself in expressing his inner turmoil through industrial art, sneaking into the local junkyard to take scraps for his works and keeping it to himself.
IX: Original Sin
Kevin won awards for his work, Tumultuous Love, and although his teachers considered the young man extremely promising and saw for him a future in New York as an artist, Kevin's own personal life was quickly spiralling as his mutant gift developed by leaps and bounds faster than Kevin could understand it.
At a fateful night, Kevin's clothes simply desintegrated as he wore them, and in desperation to help his son Kevin's father made contact with the boy's skin. He did not last a full minute, his body turning to dust before Kevin's eyes.
Worse yet was the feeling of it. The feeling of twisted elation for having used his gift to its fullest capacity, unmaking something complex and alive. Kevin felt himself go nauseous from the sensation, and hurriedly finding clothes that wouldn't decompose at coming in contact with him, the boy ran away from home, leaving his life behind. Eventually he finds a new home in a junkyard, where he stays and works in anonimity, unable to cope with what he had done, and what he felt afterwards.
X: The Dim Light of Hope
Kevin was rescued from his nightmare by a blonde mutant by the name of Amara Aquila. Appearing in Kevin's life as the young man tried his best not to be touched by a group of burglars assaulting him, the X-Woman single-hadnedly dealt with the trespassers and approached Kevin without fear. She did not touch him, but she was not afraid of him, and patiently she explained the role he could fill in the world moving forward, and that life in isolation was no life for any mutant to lead.
Although Amara was not very warm, ironic given her powers, the woman was very straight-forward and honest with Kevin, treating him like an adult in control of his fate if only he had the courage to seize it. Maybe he was vulnerable, or just going insane, but the way she spoke and what she spoke of struck a chord within Kevin.
He could not be alone forever with his dreams and guilt. He had to take control of his life, and give himself a shot. Accepting Amara's offer, he returned with her to the Xavier Habitat for Higher Learning in Westchester to be with other mutants and, maybe, build a future for himself.

Attributes
Physiology: Athanatic Morphology β
Athanatic Morphology β represents a comparatively inefficient expression of the Athanatic phenotype, characterized by uncontrolled feeding habits. Whereas α-class individuals can selectively acquire and metabolize biological energy while maintaining relative homeostasis in the donor organism, β-class individuals lack comparable regulatory precision. Their tissues establish a parasitic metabolic interface with living organisms, drawing upon cellular energy stores to replenish the subject's own physiological reserves. The process rapidly disrupts the donor's homeostasis, producing progressive organ failure. In severe cases, continued extraction results in systemic collapse and death.
This metabolic inefficiency imposes a significant ecological limitation. Because β-class individuals cannot precisely regulate the quantity or rate of energy transferred, viable hosts are frequently left compromised after exposure. Repeated feeding within the same population may produce clusters of unexplained exhaustion, metabolic abnormalities, illness, and mortality, creating an identifiable biological footprint. β-class individuals must therefore either limit the frequency of feeding, or relocate between populations. Their physiology is consequently less compatible long-term survival, reason why there are so few of them.Phenotype: Biotics

Blood and Bone
Dr. Alia Gregor was a Soviet geneticist whose scientific outlook was shaped by the rigorous, materialist traditions of Soviet research. In her 1992 book Blood and Bone, she examined human-mutant relations through the ecological principle of competitive exclusion, arguing that their overlapping needs and radically different capabilities could produce conflict even without hatred or prejudice. Following the Genoshan Genocide, her research revealed that mutantkind was recovering far faster than expected. Presenting her findings in Geneva in 1996, Gregor warned that mutants could become Earth's dominant species within twenty years, arguing that humanity needed to establish the conditions for coexistence before it was too late. Though she remained committed to scientific objectivity and rejected the idea that biological difference implied moral inferiority, her conclusions placed her research at the center of an increasingly urgent debate over humanity's future.

The Phoenix Force
The Phoenix Force is fire incarnate and it is inextricably bound to Mutantkind. Perhaps it always was. It is at the heart of Regenesis, forging a second chance for a people on the brink. To some, its akin to a mutant god; to others, a curse of ash and ruin. These are its secrets.

The Seeds of Krakoa
Following the Genoshan Genocide and Magneto's death, Professor Charles Xavier withdrew from the X-Men, consumed by the question of how mutantkind could survive in a world that had repeatedly failed it. His search led him back to Krakoa, the living island he and Magneto had once misunderstood, where he discovered the potential for a new relationship between mutants and their living homeland. Through Akorak, a chimera born from Krakoa and the X-Men captured in 1983, the X-Men discovered six extraordinary flowers. Beneath the island, they also found the Hatchery, where Krakoa could assist with bringing the Genoshan dead back to life. Together, these discoveries embodied Charles's final vision: a mutant nation built not merely on strength or the hope of human acceptance, but on symbiosis, self-determination, and the possibility of restoring what had been lost.
